About Authware

Authware began as one of my first PHP projects and I wrote it both to teach myself and to let others enjoy my work on the web. Since 2005, I've worked extensively with other content management systems and have hopefully gotten better at spotting security holes, developing my own coding style and at using PHP.

I'm currently in the process of overhauling the underlying code so some things won't function — at least for now. Here's a [partial] list of the features I plan to implement

• RSS and Atom
• Authware-Authware XMLRPC Publishing
• Theme Support (exists, but it's quite flawed).
• PDF and OpenDocument generation for content items
• Comments — and you'd have thought I had this in by now

You may wonder why I didn't simply extend one of the content management systems out there. In fact I'm a Joomla and Wordpress expert and make most of my money working on both systems. I could easily spend less time tweaking Wordpress or Joomla to duplicate the functionality of this site, but I feel it's better to work with a specific mindset instead of a generic one. Authware then, is targeted towards the writer and aims to make her job of publishing on the web less troublesome.
